Whoa. Google’s starting to become my personal information manager. Especially now that my del.icio.us tags have mysteriously disappeared…

I finally took the plunge and went to Emphasis for a haircut. I’ve been wanting (and needing) a haircut for ages now, but I’ve been procrastinating because of heartbreaking experiences from the past, even from the so-called “top salons” in the country. My last good haircut was last December, from a no-name salon in my province (San Carlos City, Pangasinan). She completely understood my hair type, my wash-apply-anti-frizz-and-wear attitude, and gave me the perfect cut.
Fast forward 5 months later, and I don’t have (and cannot make) the time to travel 4 hours to and another 4 back just to get a haircut. It so happens that my lola had some urge to shop at the Power Plant Mall. Must be a sign. Hey, I’m here, might as well take the plunge.
I thought I would take a chance and ask for Lourd (without an appointment), since I’ve heard nothing but praises from homaygess, whose taste I trust. I told the really accomodating lady at the reception (I forgot to ask her name! She was so nice!) that it was my first time to have my hair cut there and that I didn’t have an appointment. She gave me Teng. Yes, the Teng Roma! I was fucking dumbfounded for a few counts, and I had to stupidly ask her , “Teng Roma? “, like there was any other person named Teng at Emphasis.
I managed to make some conversation while he was cutting my hair. I told him that it must be my lucky day - my first time at Emphasis and I get him. Hahaha, ass-kisser ako! He advised me against having my hair rebonded, told me to just get some treatment for dry hair. He said that I should just live with my hair, get a good cut and maintain the cut. I shouldn’t enslave myself daw to the straightening iron/rebonding machine-whatever. He was so nice, but I was starstruck. Hahaha, omg nakakahiya ako! I’m going back there for a Hair Spa after the Bolinao trip.
Love the cut he gave me. The ultimate test would be tomorrow, after I shower and let it air dry.
I think I’m getting a cold. My throat feels scratchy and my body feels so tired. Ugh.
P.S. RIP Marissa Cooper. Your TJ days will be remembered fondly.
