Windows error message on NY billboard
Author: Tala
I’m not sure if this is really _the_ largest Windows error people have seen/encountered, but it’s hilarious nonetheless.
Clicky for article. Don’t bother reading most of the comments though, as a flamewar has sparked among the M$ fans, Mac fans, and OSS fans. I don’t read the blogger who posted this, so I don’t know if he belongs to one of the 3 camps, or if he’s an apathetic user like me. But this post _is_ funny, why can’t all the fanboys just sit back, have a good laugh, and forget their evangelism for a second or two?

… on Thursday evening a TIME reporter witnessed a meeting held at the home of Jose Cojuangco, brother of former Philippine President Corazon Aquino, where plans were being hatched for what one of the ringleaders called a “withdrawal of support” from President Arroyo.

rush rush
Author: Tala
I always _feel_ like I’m on the rush because my life is actually on sloth mode all the time. It would be to my advantage in the long run to accelerate my life a bit. Right now I’m like a really bad driver. The cramming during crunch time is like speeding crazily until I reach the red light at the next intersection. And then, with or without traffic, the pace slows down to nearly a standstill, like a driver who fell asleep at the wheel.
That didn’t make any sense at all.

I’m taking Automata this term. Gold’s Gym for the brain. I don’t know why they are teaching this so late into the course. I can barely remember my discrete math. Proving theorems brings me back to the 3rd floor classrooms of Pisay, to good old Rosal days. Unfortunately, our section didn’t get the popular Madame Butterfly for Geometry. I survived mostly by copying Rosalie Bina’s (genius in anything numerical and planar) homework. But then I’d rather have 3 hours of Nondeterministic Finite Automata than 1 and a half hours of WML with the most ass-holic teacher on the planet.
Who the hell still uses WAP and WML anyway? Nix says Japan, apparently, if you don’t want to work for DOCOMO.
The WAP/WML teacher is so condescending. On the first day, he claimed to have taught the same subject to industry professionals in foreign countries like Singapore and Malaysia. He said he gets paid about Php 100k for the training. So one would think that he has checked his course materials thoroughly, having used them before. One would think that he has actually tested his code on the IDE. Lo and behold, syntax errors on the course materials! On the code itself! And some of his code don’t work on the IDE. His excuse? The IDE’s buggy. Riiiiight.
The “winner!” moment: he gives a quiz with the instruction, Gumawa kayo ng program, kahit ano. (Make a program, any program.)
Hello! What is the program supposed to do? After countless questions, he finally answers with: Basta yung pinapakita lahat ng control at loop structures (Any program that shows the control and loop structures). Great.
WAP time is the time to use up the Internet fees we pay for, classmates. I installed Ruby and Rails on my lab machine. WAP time is Ruby time.

Narda - Kamikazee
