DotNettled

A bit of a lull here yesterday and today. The release candidate was sent out yesterday, and we’re not expecting any feedback till tomorrow. Right now, Jane and I are busy learning the art of .NET. We’re using this neat tool called ASP.NET Web Matrix, a free download from the ASP.NET Dev Team. Free and M$ in a sentence. *ducks at the thunder and lightning*
Now I have an idea why people say that ASP.NET is easy. Even the code for connecting to a database is made simple by just a few clicks. I don’t need to alt-tab to my database cp to create dbs and tables. Web Matrix has an interface for it. I just have to trust the tool - that it’s producing the correct code. One of the first things I had to Google for was the character to use when continuing a line of code to the next line, teehee.
I Googled for .NET-powered blogging engines and came across 2: DasBlog and .Text (now called Community Server :: Blogs). .Text looks pretty, but, based on the sample sites I saw, it lacks functionality that I deem important in a blogging tool, like the Search function. I can’t find a decent free .NET host either. I found my old .NET-powered MIT blog though. Maybe I’ll blog about my .NET progress there. ![]()

I went to this year’s Ragnafest because of Alarius Eversor. We had a guild booth that offered henna tattoo services, DTX (whatever that is), a peak at Tata doing PVP (WiFi-enabled laptop), and Mami Jen’s real life OBB scam game.
I got to finally meet a lot of my guildmates. Main GM Borgs was there, looking stressed and sleepy at the same time. Mark was there, Nymeria’s GM and future hubbie. Cough up the cash Mark! He’s kind of quiet in person though. Or maybe I just drown him out cause I’m really loud. Harvey was there, Zel and Aj, the really cute couple, Pao, Yubs, Solo (where’s Nipples?) and rich kid Tata. Fafi Edong and Dennis (Cloud Blackfire) of ~Legends~ were there too. And of course, my uberhot sibling Saber was there, in a Blacksmith costume, with his signature bracelets. He’s not as tall as I thought he would be. But he’s uber hot! Mana ako!
Jon’s (Whiteflame) kinda cute too, and talkative in person. And Chiao made an appearance! And he talked to me! My idol Chiao! We chatted a bit on YM last night, and it turns out that he’s also taking up CS. Ian was there too, but I missed seeing the real Tinahpie. Ian’s a cool geek. Great conversationalist. Kind of reminds me of Francis’ friend Arun.
I dropped by the Shadowmaidens’ booth and bought 2 panties. AE kase, asan na yung briefs?!
Saw Ivee, Beth, and Adi, who, like me, were original Maidens from Chaos. Sofia (Nilathiel) and Ella were there too. I saw Ching again after such a long time. We got interviewed for some newspaper. The day before that, they got interviewed for MTV. Girl gaming power! Ella got Farah (Lema of Ouro) to join the clan. Saw Carlo (Simply Crisha) of BS Piont, and we reminisced about our Chaos Beta days.
Mae and Rey dropped by, together with a buffed up Draggy. The Sutil couple had to leave early, prolly for some popoy action, so Nix and I sat down and talked techie with Draggy. Draggy found JR on his way to the bathroom, and we stayed on to watch the chiksilogs who cosplayed as a Dancer and a Priestess get it on onstage with Manong Jay of Kamikazee. *Shivers* I also finally got to meet the Sex God himself! Fafi Yui’s so scorching hot! And contrary to the information I was fed a few months ago, he’s not yet married in real life. I’m glad he ditched his crazy girlfriend and found someone who shares his passion for gaming.
We left at around 7:30pm, had dinner with Draggy at Chili’s in Greenbelt 1, and then went home. I was so tired, but I still logged Butter on to chat at the Geffen Gazebo.
Oh yeah, Hatred of Lydia server won, 3-2. I heard that a couple of the Hatred players were ex-AE members.
I really love my guild. Next year uli!
Release Candidate

The last 2 working days have been my most productive days at PCIT yet. I’m done with the Installation and Configuration Guide, although the styles are still a bit out of whack. Word sucks, I use OpenOffice at home. We managed to come up with a couple of test cases for negative testing, and we found a couple of good bugs.
Build 14 is the tentative Release Candidate for tomorrow, but knowing Miss Pen, she’ll probably stay late at the office tonight and have a Build 15 in time for tomorrow. SharePoint’s Site Usage Report has a couple of tricky nuances.
Jane and I finished the Test Cases today. Sort of embarrassing experience: Jane was supposed to go to the ladies’, but I called her over to show her something in the Test Cases document. I was asking her something and she wasn’t replying. So I turned around and discovered that the biatch was gone! Good thing only Miss Lee noticed. Further proof that I have autistic tendencies? She said I should slap you, Janey, so be prepared to get bitchslapped Thursday night.
Speaking of Thurday night, the whole office, including us lowly interns, are going out to dinner at Nielsen’s over at the Manila Peninsula. The client was so pleased with PCIT’s product that they offered to treat PCIT to dinner at a “fancy restaurant”. Uffe has great taste. Nielsen’s dinner buffet, yum yum. ![]()
Migs
Author: Tala
Miggy’s started school at the seminary last week. Hey, all 3 of us have something in common, aside from the sibling part of it, of course. We all “left homeâ€? to live in dormitories at the age of 12. I hope he’s not too homesick and miserable. It was different for Ayi and me, we couldn’t wait to get away from the unbearable tyrannical life at home. Migs has had it good though, living with my mom. But he’s really in dire need of discipline. He was spoiled (spoilt?) in a different way. While Ayi and I were spoiled with material things, he was spoiled with freedom. Great pity huh? There would have been enough freedom _and_ material things to go around between us 3. Isn’t it ironic?
