Gayuma

On a cold, wet night. Sitting cross-legged on the wooden floor, across a friend who’s leaning against that tree trunk riddled with dates and names. Of lovers, of friends, of people wanting to belong, wanting to leave some kind of memory in this world. Shift your weight on the fluffy pillows, you’ve been here since lunchtime, talking, perusing the books on love, lust, and the magical arts. Someone exits the pink, rose-petal adorned bathroom, thinking, wonder where the stock of pink tissue comes from. Call across the room to someone from your dorm or college. Order another round of BTS, share the slice with him (or her). Lick the caramel off your spoon. Let him lick the chocolate off the corner of your lips. Wallow in the moment.
Gayuma used to be located at 86 Esteban Abada St., Loyola Heights, Quezon City, until the place burned down. They’ve re-opened, still at E. Abada St., but nearer Xavierville. See you there!

I know I’ve said some unattractive things about iAcademy before. I’ve ranted about missing UP, and even about wanting to transfer back. I realized tonight how much I love my school.
Tonight was the first time we all got together in one room to celebrate 3 years of iAcademy. I get goosebumps still thinking about it. I love my teachers, the Masters, Miss Tanya, Sir Patrick, Sir Ando, Sir Darius, the best actor of the night! And Miss Chat! They were so game! It’s like suddenly, I have this huge extended family! Miss Vivien was there! I so miss her! I have so many things to tell her, so many stories to share.
Aeo was so cute, so endearing as a host. Panalo sa mga hirit! And Ian was so damn funny too. Haha, I’ve had this crush on Aeo for the longest time now. And Jean was so hot in that fashion show! Nababakla ako, amfness! :woot: Sir Darius was a riot in the play, and Jon was just awesome! The way he throws and catches those adlibs! Wow! I miss being on stage.
My new favorite song is now officially Recursion by the band Wasak :teehee: Inspired by Master Benz himself, lol. And the word for the day, as all days, is cheap shot!
I love my school.

Gaiman _Might_ Come Over!

Incidentally, I’m trying to organise (well, I’m not actually doing the organising) the promised signings in the Phillipines and Singapore before or after the Melbourne convention and Australian book signings this summer. The signing in the Philippines looks like it’s happening, but I’m not sure about the Singapore one, as originally I was going be brought in with Dave McKean by the British Council, a plan that was scuppered by MirrorMask, and now I’m not really sure who to talk to. (If anyone in Singapore has any bright ideas, feel free to let me know.)
From Neil Gaiman’s blog.
OMFG! Thanks Sir Patrick for the e-mail about this! We have to see him right? We just _have to_ bring our books for him to sign! And maybe ask one or two really intelligent questions! :teehee: Cross your fingers, please please let this visit push through!

First heard this on The O.C. 208 - The Power of Love
i saw a modest dream
the kind that can’t speak up
and lost before it’s let out
in the north we hold our tongues
but down here i believe
when you pull your hair back it’s so easy to see
this has not been thought through
there are things that we’ve done that we cannot undo
there are things i can’t hear when we’re telling the truth
at a table out in bethel
when i was thirteen
the criminals were saying
liked how i was silent
the cold was the container
for the sparseness of our speech
the expression in our hands
was all that we’d need
but down here i believe
that i made a big deal with a girl that can’t bleed
now I see red and black
and evening that kills i want to take it back
an evening that kills and i can’t take it back
i’m going home back to new hampshire
i’m so determined
to lay in lakes and see my sisters
i will hit my brother and hold my mother
this probably won’t work out
we might not live forever
while there’s nothing to confess
please pay attention
and i know that it’s brief
there’s not nearly enough in one night to have seen
what you had in your hand
was much more than the gold that i let go to grab
so much more than the gold that i let go to grab
Check out their new album, Emblems.
