What’s happened to me in the past month?

  • I left the Big Blue and am now with a non-outsourcing company.
  • I joined the big 3-0 bandwagon.
  • I finished a ton of books, mostly chick lit. The ones that made their mark were books by Madeleine Wickham. I just started Daniel Abraham’s 3rd, Autumn War. Asked JE to get it for me from Kinokuniya when he went to SG.
  • Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) slammed into the Philippines last weekend. We got stranded at Ian’s and I left a window open at the condo. This will probably get its own post.
  • Got my very first pair of Maco Custodio shoes – the Van Booties from his Holiday 2009 collection. Support our Filipino designers!

The wandering eye.

the-wandering-eye

I was watching an old episode of Sex and the City, the one where Carrie and Big are walking after dinner at this place where Big had asked the other diners if he could smoke his cigar and Carrie thinks she hates his arrogance. So they’re walking and he’s smoking, and a tall, hot girl with gorgeous legs walks by and Big’s eyes wander. Carrie says “Hey!” and takes his face by the chin to make him look at her and not the girl.

And it got me thinking if Le Boyfriend had a wandering eye. So I thought back to all the time we hung out together at cafes and malls and I realized that he _does_ have a wandering eye. For cars. Sports cars. Specifically Subarus.

And I realized that _I’m_ the one who has a wandering eye for hot girls. Specifically hot girls with fab shoes.

What does that say about us?

LOL.

I’m back.

Wow, this site’s a mess: outdated colophon, broken links. I’ll need to re-acquaint myself with WP’s old and new features. Looks like I’ll have my hands full in the coming weeks before the “new thing” starts. :)

Sige, ingat! And see you. :)

I’ve marked my calendar for this. I hope to see batch mates and school mates at the CCP.

Finalist, Full Length Films Category

Amidst the chaos of Martial Law in this Third World country in the 1980s, six teenagers in the top high school for the sciences discover themselves as they go through the joys and pains of adolescence. They were the top two hundred students from all over the Philippines who passed the examination for the Philippine Science High School, which was created for the purpose of giving an education highly enriched in the Sciences to exceptionally gifted Filipino children. Selected from the best and brightest from all over the country, they endure college-level courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics from their sophomore year onwards. Those who can make it are hailed as the future science and technology leaders of the New Republic, those who don’t are deemed unfortunate victims of natural selection. They all learn however that they are neither isolated from the real world, nor are they exempted from living real lives. They find the world outside, erupting into the People Power revolution in 1986 against the Marcos dictatorship, being replicated within the school as they struggle to graduate, contend with teachers, classmates, family, school officials, and a new classification to segregate students meeting the high standards of excellence from those who do not.

The film will be shown at the Cinemalaya 2007 Film Festival on July 20-29, 2007 at the CCP.

An aside.

I can’t post to LJ from Accenture, but I can access this! Nyahahaha! >:D Wow, it’s been a loooong time since I last used Wordpress. It’s about time to go back, I think. I miss WP. I think I’ll ask Mik’s help in creating graphics for my theme, and then I’ll switch back to WP.

google notebook

Google Notebook:

…a personal browser tool that lets you clip text, images, and links from the pages you’re searching, save clippings to an online notebook, and then share notebooks with others.

Whoa. Google’s starting to become my personal information manager. Especially now that my del.icio.us tags have mysteriously disappeared…
