Homecoming
So I _might_ drop by the Pisay Homecoming tomorrow. I want to get myself a Pisay shirt and see the Katoks of ‘97. The theme is retro, lulz. May I borrow someone’s uber flared pants?

The trouble with me is that once I decide I want to read a particular book, I lose all interest in others. I am thisclose to going insane because I can’t find a copy of Red Seas Under Red Skies. Or The Name of the Wind. I have a perfectly readable copy of The Lions of Al-Rassan (supposedly as brilliant as Tigana), but I can’t get past chapter 2. I can’t concentrate. I keep thinking of maybe going to that huge NBS in Cubao to search for my books. I want to go to the Manila International Book Fair. To the biggest branch of A Different Bookstore.
Gah.
I’m going crazy. I need these 2 books! I had too much faith in the local bookstores. I should have ordered from Amazon.
Next time.
Our American Project Director is in the country for visit+business. And he brought me a Starbucks City Mug from Tampa, Florida. He remembered that I collect them. Yay!

Photo gacked from ebay because 1) I don’t have my camera with me right now, and 2) the Thinkpad doesn’t have Bluetooth, so I can’t transfer the ones taken using my phone.
And on that note, Grey’s Anatomy Returns!
“You’re the girl from the bar.”
“Girl from the bar? _I’m_ the girl from the bar.”
This is why I love my fantasy authors. It’s the Orson Scott Card and brilliant newcomer Patrick Rothfuss discussing Harry Potter.

I am so pissed. The Bestsellers store in Galleria had a copy of The Name of the Wind but someone beat me to it. Same story with Red Seas in Powerbooks Megamall. Gah! Fully Booked is taking its sweet fucking time getting these books. Don’t they have someone doing r&d for the fantasy genre?
Rothfuss is like this year’s
! The sales of his book in the US have reached the levels of GRRM’s A Game of Thrones and Goodkind’s A Wizard’s First Rule. Has FB gone commercial like Powerbooks? They may have a brand new store on High Street, but the contents are nothing extraordinary. You can buy the same books at Powerbooks, or even NBS – to my surprise, NBS has Joe Abercrombie’s 2nd book, Before They Are Hanged, already. The cool UK cover pa. NBS’ sister store, Bestsellers, was the first Philippine bookstore to have
’s The Lies of Locke Lamora – also the cool UK version, not the ugly US one. I called the Fully Booked customer service and they haven’t heard of Rothfuss. Gah. It really is time to use Amazon.
